In fact, the origins of the Omega Brand goes back to the Comptoir d´établissage Louis Brandt. He opens the business in 1848 at the young age of only 23 years in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Moreover, he traveled through Europe together with his watches in order to bring them personally to the appropriate customers. Although, with the entry of his sons Louis-Paul and César Brandt, the company name also changes to Louis Brandt & Fils.
Nevertheless, Omega gained its reputation especially for its precision watches since 1848. Thus, early in the 20th century led the company to enter also into the world of sports measurement.
Moreover, in 1932 National Olympic Committee in Los Angeles decided for the first time to entrust single watch manufacture – Omega – to organize and also perform the entire Olympic timekeeping.
