Panerai Limited Edition Collection

The term of Limited Edition describes best the uniqueness of a timepiece regarding the regular production of that watch.
Of course, this term is also closely related to Luxury Watches
For example, a Limited Edition Watch becomes limited to the number of watches produced. Thus, we call an Anniversary Edition also a Limited Edition.
Panerai History becomes very closely linked with the supply of instruments and equipment to the Royal Italian Navy. Because of the supply partnership between Panerai and the Italian Navy, the creation of the original Radiomir took place in 1938.
On the eve of the Second World War, Panerai creates its first prototypes of the model. Panerai dedicates this new “Radiomir” model to the “frogman commandos” of the First Submarine Group Command of the Royal Italian Navy.
This new watch possesses a 47 mm cushion-shaped case and wire loop strap attachments. Thus, all Panerai enthusiasts loved for decades this model.
The Radiomir name is derived from the luminous substance used on the dial which was replaced by “Luminor”, an alternative substance, which also leads to another brand name synonymous with Panerai.
Evolution from Radiomir to Luminor.
The Second World War drew to a close, but the Florentine company continues the technical research begun at the start of the war.
After all, their researches culminate with the development of the LUMINOR watch. Its first characteristic becomes the Crown-protecting bridge which still nowadays gives its Panerai authenticity.
Yet, this watch possesses also reinforced wire lugs created from the same block of steel as the case. Nevertheless, another authentic characteristic of this watch remains the cushion-shaped case as the 1940s Radiomir coupled with its flat, wider bezel.
